The School Digital Champion Programme was launched nationally for its 2nd successive year in September 2017. The programme is designed to promote hands-on project based learning and increase the productive use of digital technology. It provides students with an opportunity to take on a specific challenge which primarily uses digital to solve real issues identified within the school, community or local business setting.
The Government is committed to enhancing the use of technology in teaching, learning and assessment, and creating an environment that supports good educational outcomes, in line with the National Digital Strategy and the Digital Strategy for Schools. Building on the State's investment in high speed broadband connectivity in all second level schools, the School Digital Champion Programme is an innovative programme which is designed to encourage and support students and schools to do more with digital.
